Artomatic Takes Flight is a show at the National Airport, open to artists who participated in Artomatic 2012. (The call for artists opens May 31, and those artists have been notified of the registration details.) As always, artists are selected on a first come first served basis, and there will be 50 2D artworks and 51 3D artworks on display. Once the list of artists is set, we’ll be able to share a lot more details and a sneak peek!
In the meantime, we love parties (we mean, who doesn’t, right?), so please RSVP for the Opening Night Reception!
The National Airport Arts Program
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Arts Program seeks to use the arts as a vehicle to welcome visitors to the Washington D.C., region and the country through art that celebrates the stately beauty, dignified spirit, and subtle elegance of the National Capital Region.
The Arts Program consists of three program components–permanent public art, temporary, rotating art, and performance art. The Temporary and Rotating Exhibits Program consists of providing rotating exhibits at three, distinct spaces each at Ronald Reagan Washington National and Washington Dulles International Airports, one of which is The Gallery Walk at Reagan National. It specifically exists to highlight the unique identity and cultural flavor of the Washington, D.C., region.
