Artist Interview: Keiona Clark

Who are you and how long have you been an artist?
I am Keiona Clark and I have been an artist for 3 years. I have always had a natural gift, no formal education. I created a lot or art as a child and a teenager and won awards but never continued into adulthood.

What medium(s) do you work in & why?
Acrylic because it is a very forgiving medium that dries quickly, I also work with chalk because it allows me to use my finger with more control than a brush.

What is your creative process like?
I have epiphanies’ and I put them to paper or canvas

What is the best art-related advice you’ve received?
Just Step back, if you are a perfectionist it will never be perfect

What is the biggest challenge you face as an artist?
Starting so late in life trying to figure out my footing, or where I fit in, learning the rope. Creating is easy, finding an audience is easy, finding the right audience is difficult
