Mana Prima Painting with Donnalynne Lefever
April 30, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Mana Prima is a continuous painting with your hands as brushes using powdered pigment (usually titanium white on a black base or color pigment on a white base) and water accompanied by music which can influence the patterns that appear. This is a good technique for visionary artists to get something on the canvas or board to help you draw inspiration and ideas from.
It was created by visionary artist David Heskin and often taught with his visionary artist wife, Aloria Weaver. It was created as a water based alternative way of starting artwork to how visionary artists, Robert Venosa and Martina Hoffmann would start their oil painting workshops. This technique, once set with fixative, can be used as a base for acrylic or oil paintings.
Samples are available to be seen on the walls of The Magic Room, 8118 and 8117, (home of Skeeter Scheid and Donnalynne Lefever’s artwork). Come, play and enjoy.
