Participants must agree to abide by the general terms and conditions of Artomatic 2008 as stated below.
Registration Fees
Visual artists must pay a $90 registration fee online. No refunds will be given for the registration fee. For installation artists, an additional $100 deposit (check or money order) will be required at check in on Site Selection Weekend.
Performing artists are excluded from registration fees.
On-Site Orientation and Site Selection (visual artists only)
2008 Site selection dates:
- Saturday, April 12
- Sunday, April 13
Overflow or late-attendees site selection:
- Monday, April 14, 5-7 pm
- Tuesday, April 15, 5-7 pm
All visual artists must take part in on-site orientation and site selection. A day and time will be assigned to each participant once he/she has completed online registration. If you are late for your on-site registration time, the time that you register will be at the discretion of the Event and Program Management Committee.
If you are unable to attend at the assigned date and time, you may make arrangements to attend a session later in the weekend, or an overflow site selection evening on Monday, April 14 and Tuesday, April 15 from 5 - 7 pm.
Please be prompt. If you do not attend on-site orientation and site selection on one of the given days, you will not be eligible to participate in Artomatic 2008.
Volunteer Commitment
Visual artists agree to work three shifts (approximately 15 hours) during Artomatic 2008.
Visual artists will not be permitted to choose an exhibit space until they have signed up for the required hours.
Installation
Installation dates:
- Wednesday, April 16 through Wednesday, May 7, 2008
Installation hours:
Wednesdays and Thursdays: 5 pm - 10 pm
Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays: Noon - 10 pm
Participant agrees to install work during open hours between April 16 and May 7, 2008. If you have not started installing your exhibit by 10 PM on May 4, your space may be allocated to someone else. No refunds will be given.
You may paint your PARTITION WALL any color you wish. You may NOT paint the floor, carpet, or walking surface in any way. You may NOT paint the ceiling or pillars in any way. If you have a space on one of the existing walls in the building, you may NOT paint it either. No part of the building can be painted or altered.
You may not hang anything from the pipes, wires, or hangers in the ceiling, nor may you put anything directly on the glass windows.
If you are creating an installation, an additional $100 deposit (check or money order) will be required at check in on Site Selection Weekend.
All artist materials MUST come through the loading dock and the freight elevator. NO supplies are permitted through the front lobby of 1200 First Street, NE. Failure to obey this rule may jeopardize your participation in Artomatic.
De-Installation
Deinstallation dates:
- Wednesday, June 18 through Sunday June 29, 2008.
Deinstallation hours:
Wednesdays and Thursdays: 5 pm - 10 pm
Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays: Noon - 10 pm
Participant agrees to de-install work during open hours between June 18 and June 29, 2008. What you have added to the space must be removed.
The space must be left clean and orderly.
Artist who selected to do an installation will have their deposit check returned upon completing de-installation.
Sales
All sales should be handled directly between artist and the collector. All works sold must remain on exhibit throughout the duration of the event.
Security and Liability
Any artwork or other personal property exhibited in or brought to the event is exhibited or brought at the participant's sole risk. No personal property insurance shall be provided by Artomatic or any of its partners. Neither Artomatic nor any of its partners assume any responsibility for damage, theft, or loss of a participant's artwork, property, or display.
As a participant of Artomatic 2008, I understand and agree to the above-stated terms and conditions. I further understand that failure to comply with these rules will disqualify me from Artomatic 2008 and may jeopardize my future participation.
