| ARTOMATIC 2008 | Registration has been open for two weeks and there are already more than 800 artists signed up to participate in this year’s Artomatic. There are still spaces left – If you register and are put on the waitlist, don't give up. We'll work to accommodate everyone we can. However, be prepared to select a space on Monday or Tuesday (5pm or 6pm) evening if there are spaces available. You will be notified. Click Here To Register and Reserve Your Space. Artomatic 2008 May 9 – June 15, 2008 Capitol Plaza I 1200 First Street, NE Washington, DC 20002 Metro stop: Red Line, New York Ave., M Street exit | | | Site Selection for 2008 | Site Selection begins this weekend. When you registered you should have received an email with your Site Selection date and time listed. You can also find this information on your Artist Registration page of your MYAOM Profile on the Artomatic website. Please bring this email or a print-out of your Artist Registration page with you when you come to the site to show that you have signed up for your three shifts and have paid the registration fee. There will be an orientation session that you are required to attend before you are allowed to reserve your space. Please do not come earlier than your scheduled time. If you are unable to attend at this time please contact registration@artomatic.org about setting up an alternative time. Those alternate times will be Monday or Tuesday at 5pm or 6pm. Please let the registration team know which session you will attend. | | | | Light It Up | | Place your order this weekend for artist lighting. The EPM crew will order two types of lighting units from Ikea next week. We will order a number of single lights at about $10 each and we’ll order a nice 5-light set at about $65. Volunteers will be available throughout installation to help you install your lights if necessary. Look for the sign up board at Site Selection. | | | | Get Your Gear On | The Artomatic Shop has been updated with new 2008 items – including tote bags, baseball hats, women's tees, and even kid-sized t-shirts. Check out all the different ways you can show your support for Artomatic and look cool in the process: Shop Artomatic | | | | VARC at Artomatic | The Visual Arts Resource Center (VARC) will be a space at Artomatic to provide connections between visual arts groups working on behalf of the arts community and the artists and residents of the greater DC area. Primarily composed of non-profit arts groups, or groups created with that same sense of mission, the VARC provides an opportunity to showcase resources that support artists living and working in DC. Along with the area's arts groups; companies, galleries, and businesses that provide products, materials, and services that support visual artists will also have materials in the VARC. Contact VARC@artomatic.org for more information. | | | | Volunteer Opportunities | | There will NOT be a Steering Committee/All Hands meeting this weekend at the site due to Site Selection.
