| ARTOMATIC 2008 | There are now more than 1,000 visual and performing artists signed up to participate in Artomatic 2008. Registration remains open for performing artists while we are having to get "creative" with the remaining space for visual artists. We still have plenty of room for 3-D standalone and installations but the 'wall' space is very limited. The spaces left are 3' and 4' sections of wall between the windows on the outer walls. We've been giving 2-D artists 2 or 3 adjacent sections to make about 10' of total wall space. There are about 20 of these spaces left throughout the building. We are willing to have one more go around with site selection at 10:30 am this Saturday (4/26). We'll do orientation and show you the available spaces. We're trying to get everyone who wants to participate in Artomatic 2008 a place to show their art work. Come get creative with us. If you see something that turns you on, let us know and we'll work it out. Please RSVP to registration@artomatic.org as soon as possible so we know who to expect on Saturday. Let us know if you want 2-D or 3D space. We hope to see you Saturday. Performing Artists: Click Here To Register and Get Your Act Booked. Important dates: - Installation: April 16 - May 7

Wednesday, May 7th is the last day of installation. 5-10pm. | | | | All-Committee Meeting | All-Committee Meeting, Saturday, April 26, 1 p.m. Onsite in the Electric Stage Space If you're working on any aspect of Artomatic organizing or just want to know more about what's going on, attend the All-Committee Meeting on Saturday at 1 p.m. The agenda will include reports from the Board, the four committees (Performance, Visual Arts, Events Management, and Marketing) and discussion of any new proposals, problems, special events or other announcements. We'll give the left-overs to artists for their personal spaces. Volunteer help needed to paint and do graffiti work in the music, dance and film areas of Artomatic starting this weekend. Contact Stephanie at volunteer@artomatic.org.if you are available and willing to take brush in hand to beautify the building space. | | | | Artist Catalog | All space locations have been entered into the artist catalog. If you picked a space, turned your blue card in, and completed your registration correctly, we've entered your space into the artist database. This will become the printed artist directory so everyone can find your work during the event. There are still have a handful of people whose names in the Artist Catalog are not matching those on the blue cards - we can't figure out who you are in the database. EVERYONE please go into your MY AOM profile and CHECK your space number. Make sure it is correct. If it is correct, you need do nothing. If it is wrong, please email registration@artomatic.org and explain what is wrong and what it should be, and why. Did you move spaces? Is it a typo? This is the easiest way to proof the whole thing. Thanks very much! | | | | Gallery Managers Needed | The Gallery Manager organizes the volunteers during their shifts on the site, assigns tasks, and is the point person for the day throughout the entire Artomatic calendar, from Installation to Deinstallation. If you would be interested in working as a Gallery manager please contact Stephanie Bonifant at volunteer@artomatic.org. | | | | International Outreach | The goal of the International Outreach committee is to increase connections between Artomatic and the international community in the D.C. area by reaching out to embassies, international organizations, intercultural groups, etc. We want to attract the attention of these organizations and their members by highlighting Artomatic artists who have an international identity, either culturally or in their work. We plan to create guides of artists by world region, which we will send to embassies and various cultural organizations in D.C., as well as display on site for visitors who are interested in certain regions/countries. If you would like to be included in these lists, please help us gather this information by completing the survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=M_2bJiKfG0G869urkJmo9PfQ_3d_3d If you are interested in being part of our International Outreach committee, please contact us at international@artomatic.org. | | | | Artomatic on the Web | Connect with artists participating in Artomatic | | | | Design on a Dime | We need furniture donations to fill the music halls and multiple lounges.
