Prepare to celebrate Artomatic's 10th anniversary: The trademark, one-of-a-kind multimedia arts event will be at Half Street's 55 M Street, S.E., in Washington, D.C.'s Capitol Riverfront neighborhood.

Help introduce the world to the Artomatic experience -- get involved and lead a tour. Only an hour of your time required (does not count toward participant work shift requirement). Tours can start at your artwork! Design your own tour or follow an established script. E-mail tours@artomatic.org to find out more.

Registration and site selection were a smashing success! And so begins the real fun: Installing your art and personalizing your space. Have fun and be creative, but don't forget to follow those oh-so-many-many rules (PDF) we told you about at orientation. Here's the days and hours you can haul in your stuff & install:

Installation: April 29 -May 26

  • Wednesdays, Thursdays: 5 p.m. –10 p.m.
  • Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays: Noon – 10 p.m.
  • The two final days of installation: Monday May 25th and Tuesday May 26th:  Noon – 10 p.m.

If you haven't started installing your art by 10 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, your space may be allocated to someone else.

The Artomatic catalog is set to go live in the next few weeks, so get cranking on your catalog profiles, people! Upload pics of your work, and include your e-mail address if you want folks to be able to reach you.

• Pick up your lighting at the fifth floor office
If you are one of the lucky folks who purchased lights (and many of you did), they will be available for pickup Sunday, May 10 through Saturday, May 23, at the fifth floor Artomatic office at 55 M St. S.E. during regular installation hours.

Artomatic artists can use their own lights to illuminate their spaces; just make sure the lights are not more than a total of 200 watts. Questions about lighting your space? E-mail Barry, our lighting guru, at event@artomatic.org.

• Work shifts have now begun
We are looking forward to seeing you at your work shifts, so don't forget the days you signed up for. (If you need to check your shifts, log into the site at left and click "shifts" on the lefthand menu.)

If you are running late to your shift, be sure and call us at the work shift hotline, 202-470-0931. And yes, we will be taking attendance, so no skipping! Questions about work shifts? E-mail volunteer@artomatic.org.

Be sure to sign up for the Artomatic Newsletter (see left) to keep informed of what's going on with Artomatic. Newsletter readers will receive notification of when the next Artomatic is happening and where, as well as when registrations begin.

It's our Artomatic art fair!  20 of our Artomatic visual artists will set up and sell their creations in a marketplace-style setting on the first floor.  Visitors can choose from a wide variety of media including sculpture, painting, photography, mixed media, masks, ceramics and papercrafts.  This is the only time during Artomatic that visitors can buy art and bring it straight home, so if you need an urgent art fix, this is the place! 

The marketplace also takes place on June 14, 21 and 28.
