Does your art work explore the natural world? Would you enjoy free nature and art classes? Would you be willing to share your artistic skills with the local community? Come learn about the NEST Program, an adult art/nature program in the region. The NEST program is designed to promote people’s engagement with and knowledge of their “nest” – where they live. The series of hands-on workshops and outings guide residents in enjoying their local resources through the arts and sciences. Come learn about how you can be involved – as an artist or a participant. More about NEST at: www.exploreyournest.org Bio Joanna Cornell, an Aquatic and Human Ecologist, engages people in the natural world through the arts and sciences. She is particularly interested in the connection between environmental stewardship and people's sense of place, and she explores this through writing, art, and program development. Trained as a scientist, she is fascinated by the bridging potential of the arts and sciences to engage people into caring about their environment. Joanna holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and is active as a board member with numerous local and state environmental organizations.
