Education Room

From Ansel Adams to Andreas Gursky, the tool of choice for many serious photographers has been the large format view camera. This basic introduction to large format photography is intended for photographers interested in learning about the fundamentals of view camera use and how to get started. You may be surprised at how simple and inexpensive it is to get started in large format photography. Participants will learn about how view camera movements can be used to control perspective and focus, and other basic camera techniques. We'll also review the options for printing and displaying your work, including the traditional darkroom, digital scanning and printing, and alternative processes.
