Washington DC is rapidly changing. Soaring property prices and widescale development are literally forcing local residents out of the city. Chocolate City explores the poetic resistance to the gentrification of the US capital through the eyes of a group of local women forced from their city center homes to make way for massive reconstruction. Although living in the shadows of power, their story celebrates the strength of communities and the capacity of art to inspire change
