Fri Jun 13 - 7:00pm-8:00pm This event offers an in-depth discussion about developing a DC based community research and design lab. The proposed lab will include 3-D printers, laser cutters and other expensive machinery available to the public through an affordable membership to promote innovation and creativity in our nation's capital. The mission is to create a space that allows designers to take risks while being a hub of interactive and creative dialog. We will explore the steps needed to successfully implement this idea and actively incorporate participation from the public. Panelists: Brian Corrigan Rule breaker, problem-solver, designer and instructor at the Corcoran College of Art + Design specializing in design and design thinking. Interests include creative cities, experiences and collaboration. Alicia Kersting Marathon runner, listener, reformer and entrepreneur specializing in policy and social responsibility.
