"Painting with bass", to borrow a concept from David Torn, best describes my approach to music. I play basses (NS bass cello and fretless five string) combined with effects, loops, electronics and preparations to create improvisations ranging from ambient textures to noise and machinery. Vector Trio is my regular group and now I'm branching out to explore solo playing which concentrates on sound and texture but is not afraid to venture into rhythm and melody.

One Loose Marble. This piece consists of three bass parts. The repeating bass line is on fretless electric. I overdubbed a solo on bass cello thru a fuzz pedal. The third part is fretless electric again but using various effects and preparations including a marble. At the very end the marble fell on the floor. The beginning of the piece was created by reversing the last few seconds of the marble's decent and pasting it at the beginning.

My Ghosts. Four improvised bass cello lines were recorded separately and later combined. The music of Giacinto Scelsi has influenced me greatly in the last two years.
