Artomatic 2012
Rastha is the artistic expression of Dr. Faisal M Mirza - Abstract artist, scientist and philosopher.
Faisal has had no formal art training but is an orthopaedic surgeon by trade.
Faisal began exploring abstract expressionism through colour and texture using oil on canvas 7 years ago while living in San Francisco. His passion for spinal cord injury patients, wheelchair-enabled and the visually impaired helped evolve his art into a rhythmic style blending symmetric and anisotropic elements and perspectives along varied spectrums. Rastha evolved using texture and impressionistic strokes to play with light and reflect myriad thoughts in a tactile manner designed to reveal the piece ultimately through sight and touch. His media choices include oil, acrylic, wax, pastels, watercolour, and recently digital art. Rastha's preferred surface is Belgian linen and often combines various media into oil and acrylic to enhance feel.
Passionate creativity of textured balance and rhythmic flow, splashing oils upon canvas in a textured braille of sorts designed for the visually impaired to impart my thoughts by touching my art.
Unique textured art that fulfills the soul with whispering shadows of colours and patterns that evoke a sensual appetite in awareness and balance. Braille for the visually-impaired to evoke memories of present, past and future. See what is lost and feel what may not be seen in a kaleidoscope of silent reflection amid the noise of emotional eruptions. The depth of my mind splashed upon these canvases blind only to those without a sense of touch. A viscous evocation of my rhythm.
