Aerial Series: I fly infrequently enough that, when I do, I have no problem looking like a tourist by having my camera pressed up to the window. The drawings in this series are based on those photographs, with the occasional addition of surrealistic events meant to express, among other things, a desire to keep the memory of loved ones near. I also wish to explore the emotional response that these landscapes can trigger - how a sense of “home” is felt as my flight descends into DC, even though the perspective I hold at that moment is due to long list of things outside of my control or understanding.

These three drawings are based on the eye witness accounts of my grandmother and depict the arc of a once new technology - its birth, zenith point, and decline.
