I am a self-taught artist practicing in the medium of tissue paper collage since the late sixties. I accompany my tissue paper,at times with acrylic paint and use wrapping paper, paper ribbon, and paper bags as well. I have been doing many pieces of late using only recycled paper- like the tissue from a box of shoes, and tissue discarded from birthday party or holiday gift bags.
Only in the last few years have I been promoting and selling my art. I have had several solo shows and belong to a local artist group HCAA) with ongoing shows in the community.
I like to portray humor, emotion, and my experiences through the years, in my work. I am very often inspired by musical lyrics, quotations, and situations around me; then feel compelled to express them.

I tried an under painting of acrylic, with an overlay of tissue paper.I wanted this image to be smoky, dream -like as if just coming out of a dream. The mouth is a bit more pronounced as if she is trying to speak but is not fully awake. I think this reflection is synonymous with "not wanting to face reality" which is the bigger picture on a deeper level.
