Always involved in imagery, I have found increasing satisfaction and in visual storytelling. The nonsensical captures my attention whether it’s a moment of human behavior or part of an old fable or song. Sometimes I think of my work as books in the form of glass. It’s easy to see the influence of the graphic arts in my glass. I continue to make prints especially when the story is long. But glass holds my attention for many of the same reasons that stories about our daily life attract me: surprise, delight, humor, color, breakage, remaking and general optimism in the face of futility.
