Frustrated by the choices of art he could afford, he purchased a canvas, a brush and paint. His first painting, small in scale, was abstract in form. This single painting awoke a passion he never knew existed.

He takes a contemporary approach in dealing with color, depth and composition. Fascinated with how colors interact and intrigued by how their relationships change with different surface scales and textures, he is drawn to create balance between order and chaos. He creates undertheinfluence of the experiences, perceptions and responses of his daily life.

As his studio space expands, so does the scale of his work, and his artistic style is rapidly evolving with the exploration of incorporating mixed-media into his work. His collage work is inspired by found photos, unusual materials, book and magazine graphics. In this medium, he concentrates on the space, movement and placement of all the incorporated materials to create a well-balanced piece. Unlike his abstract-inspired painting, collage allows him to deliver art with a whimsical element.

In both processes, a state of flow frees his imagination and guides each piece into existence.
