In the past two years, I have gone from realism and oil painting to abstraction, mixed media, and acrylics. What a feeling of freedom and renewed excitement! Recent work includes a series of paintings using a limited palette (chromatic black, white, red, green) and simple organic shapes and forms. This series is now eight+ paintings, several of which I'm exhibiting here. Another series is just starting, using more complex shapes, and a different limited palette. I don't know where these new explorations will go. Art for me is always process, moving and changing, alive. I am always working to capture the movement, the shift and flow between light and darkness, between colors and values, between shapes, so that the finished work feels ready to continue in motion.
