Shelley Lowenstein’s work is at the intersection of science and art.  Join the artist as she presents a slide presentation on one of the hardest working cells in the human body— how it looks and how it behaves.   Every human has these amazing beta cells.  And everyone needs them to live and thrive.
How Lowenstein decided to tell this story is a long, personal, and colorful journey.
Douglas Lowenstein, a well-known speaker and writer, will talk about how dedicated and determined scientists work relentlessly to turn scientific discovery into promising new treatments.
